Tonto Apache Tribe
The Tonto Apache Tribe is located adjacent to the town of Payson (originally named Te-go-suk, Place of the Yellow Water) and surrounded by a variety of geological and mountainous formations.
The Mazatzal Mountains are locted to the west, the Sierra Ancha Mountains to the south and the Mogollon Rim to the North. Tonto Natural Bridge State Park is also near the reservations as well as the historc towns of Pine and Straberry. The Mogollon Rim, just minutes from the reservation offers beautiful Pondorosa pine trees, lakes, streams camping and hunting. The winter snow provides unlimited skiing and snowboarding.
