Date Creek Ranch
Date Creek Ranch is a working cattle ranch, over 120 years old, currently run by the Knight family. Located twenty-two miles northwest of Wickenburg, off Highway US 93, on picturesque Date Creek. The ranch headquarters, first built in 1883, enjoys a riparian setting of cottonwoods and willow and home to a wide variety of wildlife. They sell natural grass-fed beef directly to customers by the quarter. The beef is free of hormones, antibiotics, pesticides and steroids. There are also orchards featuring Golden and Red Delicious Apples, summer apples, some pear trees and plenty of free-stone peaches. When the fruit is ripe, the public is invited to visit the ranch, weekends only, from 7 am to 3 pm, to pick the orchard's bounty. Boxes, wheel barrows and picking tools are supplied. Admission is free. Scales are at the stand for weighing and paying. The fruit is pesticide-free. Peaches and summer apples are usually available during the month July. Fall apples are typically ready in September and October.
