Arizona Office of Tourism Launches Innovative Mobile Website
June 20, 2011
PHOENIX – The Arizona Office of Tourism (AOT) proudly launches the mobile version of its consumer Website, www.arizonaguide.com. Mobile-savvy travel consumers can now access Arizona visitor information at mobi.arizonaguide.com on DROID and iPhone mobile devices.
Developed in collaboration with AOT’s vendor Madden Media, the mobile Website offers the same valuable Arizona travel information such as statewide attractions, events and travel deals that can be found on AOT’s key consumer marketing resource, www.arizonaguide.com. The mobile Website has been strategically integrated within AOT’s overall marketing efforts and plays a key role along with the agency’s traditional and digital advertising initiatives, social media activities, and the Official State Visitor’s Guide. Additionally, the site is supported entirely by advertising dollars, therefore exists at no cost to the state agency.
“This mobile site is yet another innovative way that enables AOT to communicate with travelers looking for information on what to see and do in Arizona,” said Sherry Henry, AOT director. “With travel information delivered straight to your phone, visitors can find everything they need to experience our great state.”
Users of the mobile Website can be guided to Arizona travel destinations with GPS tracking and turn-by-turn directions; discover event listings that are updated daily; explore attractions, golf courses, restaurants, resorts, and spas throughout the state; and search destination cities for special offers and package deals.
"Much like the national and international award-winning Official State Visitor’s Guide that we produce for the Arizona Office of Tourism, we wanted our home state to have a ‘best in class’ mobile website.” said John Hudak, Chief Marketing Officer for Madden Media. “Some of the more notable features are the visually striking graphics not found on most mobile Websites or apps, the integrated GPS mapping that does not take the user out of the AOT mobile site, and search based on the user’s location and distance to items searched.”
