Launches New TSO Rocks the Fox Series
The Tucson Symphony Orchestra will launch a new series at the Fox Tucson Theatre, TSO Rocks the Fox, with For Michael: A Tribute to Michael Jackson on Friday, October 12 at 8:00 pm. The tribute coincides with the 25th anniversary of the release of the superstar’s recording, Bad. Bad25, released September 18, is a deluxe package that includes three CDs, two collectible booklets, and the first ever authorized DVD release of a concert from the record breaking Bad World Tour—the July 16, 1988 sold out Wembley Stadium show in London.
For Michael: The Music of Michael Jackson is a tribute to the King of Pop that will take you back to the earliest days of the Jackson 5—“I Want You Back,” “ABC,” “Never Can Say Goodbye” and “I’ll Be There”—through The Jacksons—“Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough”—and to his legendary solo hits like “Thriller,” “Beat It,” “Off the Wall,” “Billie Jean,” “Wanna Be Startin’ Stomething,” “PYT,” “Human Nature” and “Man in the Mirror.”
Singer/actor Gavin Hope will join the TSO in For Michael: A Tribute to Michael Jackson. Gavin has diverse experience in music, stage, film, and TV. After being the youngest member in Calgary Opera Chorus history, he was a member of Alberta pop group The EarthTones, sang with Michael Bolton, and eventually became a member of Canadian Pop a cappella institution, The Nylons.
Four albums, constant touring, and a Juno Nomination later, Gavin ventured into theatre, where highlights include Rent and the role of Simba in the original Canadian company of The Lion King. Joining Gavin and the TSO onstage is the Canadian ensemble, Jeans n’ Classics. Jeans n’ Classics performed Take It to the Limit: The Music of The Eagles with the TSO in a Pops Special at the Tucson Music Hall in February, 2011. For Michael: The Music of Michael Jackson will be conducted by Keitaro Harada.

Tickets to the Fox Tucson Theatre show are $30 to $50 with special love seats in the loge priced at $80 for two.
