LOCATION: Colossal Cave Mountain Park, 16721 E. Old Spanish Trail, Vail AZ 85641
START TIME: 6:30am
COST: $30 through 3/31/13; $35 from 4/1/13 through Day of Race
Day of race registration and bib number pick up will be from 5:30 – 6:25 a.m. Cars must be in the Park by 6:15 a.m. The gate will be closed for the race. The run will start at La Posta Quemada Ranch.
The beauty of the Sonoran Desert and gorgeous mountain ranges will surround you. With views of the Stone Ramada at the Cave and the City of Tucson to the west. All participants will get free entrance into the Park and a free t-shirt to all who pre-register by 5/18/13 only. You can upgrade to tech t-shirt for $15 must be received by 5/15/13. Awards will be three deep in all age groups $100 prize money for course record Men’s Record – James Miles 16:57 and Women’s Record- Everlyn Lagat 18:56. We hope you come out bring the family and make a day at the Park.
The Al Lindstrom Colossal Cave 5k Road Race will benefit The CCC Museum at Colossal Cave Mountain Park and the The Shyann Kindness Project “Passing Kindness On, One Act at a Time”. Bring new, unused school supplies for the Shyann Kindness Projects “Back to School Supply Drive” Pencils, pens, highlighters, binders, backpacks, paper, crayons, etc…
Directions to Colossal Cave Mountain Park:
From East 22nd Street, turn south onto scenic Old Spanish Trail and follow it about 17 miles to Colossal Cave Mountain Park.
Or, take I-10 east from Tucson to exit 279 (the Vail/Wentworth exit), turn north, and follow the signs for about 7 miles.
