66th Annual Christmas Parade
November 17
Winslow
Winslow’s Annual Christmas Parade is coming November 17th
our theme this year is “Get Your Christmas Kicks on Route 66”
Grand Marshals are the Standin’ on the Corner Foundation Members (past and present)
For what will be sixty-six years now, the Winslow Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Winslow has sponsored an Annual Christmas Parade. This is an event and tradition that the entire community is very proud of. Sixty-six consecutive years, rain, snow, wind, sunny, cloudy, cold or warm the Parade has always taken place. The tradition of Winslow’s Christmas Parade began in 1946. The Chamber of Commerce chose to sponsor an event that would kick off the holiday season and encourage the citizenry to shop local! The Winslow Christmas Parade draws residents and guest from all around the state to enjoy what always proves to be a joyful holiday experience. Estimated crowds of up to 10,000 have been known to be in attendance, making Winslow’s Annual Christmas Parade
the largest parade in all of Northern Arizona!
The Chamber of Commerce has enjoyed and very much appreciates the participation of numerous businesses, clubs, organizations, churches, schools, dignitaries, etc. in the form of floats and such that enter the line up. Many see and use their entry as a way to advertise and promote, while at the same time, thank the community for any support that has been given in the prior year. Whatever reasons any of them choose or have chosen to be in the parade, the Chamber of Commerce is happy to feature their entries! It should also be noted that many of the entries in the Parade join us from other communities throughout Arizona. This is wonderful and much enjoyed as it greatly enhances the event and highlights the region we live in. Entry applications are available at the Chamber office (523 W Second St.) or give us a call (928-289-2434) and we’ll be happy to fax one to you!
Perhaps, for some folks, the favorite part of the day are the vendors that line the streets of Downtown Winslow. Starting early in the day the public enjoys strolling second and third streets purchasing or perhaps just looking at a large variety of arts and crafts, clothing, jewelry, toys, holiday decorations, and more. The other kinds of vendors are there too! Were talking FOOD FOOD FOOD. Snacks, meals, sweets, & treats…
it’s all available for everyone to enjoy and surely you will!
Join us in Winslow for the 66th Annual Christmas Parade!!!
* Saturday November 17th *
parade begins at 1:00 pm
Santa Claus will be visiting with us on our parade day too! Young children can meet with him to get a “goodie bag” and let him know what’s on their Christmas wish lists. He and Mrs. Claus will be at the Winslow Visitor Center which is at 523 W Second St. from 9:30 am until 12:00 noon.
