Family event celebrates Health, Fitness and the Joy of Christmas!

Freestone District Park, Gilbert Arizona
Join us for a unique family event that celebrates health, fitness and the joy of Christmas – Saturday December 15th at Gilbert’s Freestone District Park. Bring the kids and pets (leashed), and enter a team of four in the 1.2k “Santa Sled Run” (walk/stroll). Or run/walk 6k or 12k, along the scenic and safe Western Powerline Trail.
Every participant receives a Santa Hat - and many dress up in Christmas costumes, competing for prizes like the Best Christmas-themed Running Outfit, the Most Christmas Spirit, Best Decorated Entry, and Best Dressed Pet! There are also awards for the top finishers in each age category and collectible finisher’s pins. Sign up early – the first 2000 to register will also receive 12k’s of Christmas logo’d socks.
To get you in the spirit of Christmas, there will be carolers at the start / finish and at every “k” along the route – school children, girl scouts, performing arts schools, and musical groups. And the Christmas Bazaar features a variety of Christmas gift items.
If you love animals, plan a visit to Santa’s Pet Village – the largest pet adoption event this Christmas. Over 40 valley rescue groups will participate and there will be hundreds of animals - cats, dogs, rats, and rascally rabbits – all looking for a loving home this Christmas.
A portion of the proceeds benefit Maricopa County Animal Care & Control (MCACC) and Phoenix Animal Care Coalition (PACC911).
