The 2013 Marana Bluegrass Festival
The “Goal” of the Marana Bluegrass Festival is to provide a showcase for the bands of Arizona. For the first time, a Festival exists to provide the residents of Arizona an opportunity to see, hear and experience the talents of their local bluegrass musicians/bands from a single festival stage. Many Arizona are top notch, but have no festival experience. These bands are now being provided an opportunity to acquire some “on-stage” festival experience. This novel approach sets this festival apart from all other bluegrass festivals in Arizona and most of the nation. The 2013 Festival is presented by a partnership of the Desert Bluegrass Association, the Arizona Bluegrass Association, the Town of Marana and S&S Bluegrass Promotions.
Bands will perform back to back each day starting at 10:00 AM and going to 5:30 PM. Open ceremonies will start at 9:45 AM. Sound Reinforcement is being provided by the “Best”, Old Blue Sound. Don’t pass up an opportunity to hear Ten of Arizona’s top notch bluegrass bands perform on both Saturday and Sunday.
The gate fee is $7 per day or a weekend pass for $12. Children under the age of 12 are free with an adult. This is the lowest festival entry fee you can find and you can’t beat this quality of entertainment for two full days of listening pleasure.
Dry camping is free with a weekend pass or $5 per day. Pets are allowed in the campground only and must be on a leash at all times.
