The Second Annual Southeast Arizona Wine Growers Festival Set For April 20th and 21st
The Second Annual Southeast Arizona Wine Growers Festival, featuring 17 Arizona Wineries in one location, is slated from April 20th and 21st, 2013 from 11 am to 5 pm at Kief-Joshua Vineyards in beautiful Elgin, Arizona.
The day will be filled with new wine releases, fabulous winemakers, great food, a professional chili cook off and live music by Jeordie, daughter of 60’s pop star Melanie who sang, “I got a brand new pair of roller skates!”
“We are bringing together winemakers from every wine region within Arizona,” states winemaker and host Kief Manning. “With the exception of the Phoenix wineries, all attendee have the common bond of growing grapes in Southeastern Arizona.”
On Saturday, the non-profit Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) hosts a professional Chili Cook-off. Proceeds will benefit the Southern Arizona Community Food Bank. CASI rules will apply, and the entry fee $15. The judging will take place at 1:00 pm. Make checks payable to High Desert Pod (HDP). Contact Sunny Fichtl 2017 Chantilly Dr. Sierra Vista, AZ 85635. In addition to wine tasting, the expanded festival will include sensory wine tasting and wine pairing seminars. Chef Stephen will be on site selling chicken wings, pulled pork sandwiches, sirloin steaks and much more for your enjoyment. The food dishes will cost $8 to $10.
