From Arizona’s earliest Native inhabitants to today’s residents, Arizonans from every generation have been known to make beautiful works of art that reflect the state’s unique landscape.

Today, you can see Arizona art and artifacts in many places, including museums and archaeological monuments. Read on to learn about the arts and artifacts of each region of the state:

• Northern Arizona
  This region features many museums that showcase the geological history of Northern Arizona, as well as depictions of frontier life, Native American art, pioneer history and the performing arts. There is also a world-famous observatory in Flagstaff.
• North Central Arizona
  The handiwork of the past and present is on display in North Central Arizona, where a variety of museums offer up exhibits on Native American culture and cowboy art. You can also visit frontier-era buildings and modern-day art galleries and festivals.
• Phoenix & Central Arizona
  Museums and art galleries in Phoenix and Central Arizona showcase both fine arts from around the world and crafts made by local Native Americans and other artisans. You can also visit pioneer history museums, art galleries and science museums.
• Tucson & Southern Arizona
  Ancient and modern-day arts and artifacts are plentiful throughout Southern Arizona. From Native American artifacts in Dragoon to modern art galleries in Tubac, the region provides a varied selection of distinctive crafts of its people.
• Arizona’s West Coast
  Prehistoric petroglyphs and modern-day Native American arts and artifacts are found all along Arizona's West Coast. The region is home to four different Native American tribes, and their culture and heritage can be seen in the numerous museums in Oatman, Yuma, Quartzsite and other towns throughout the region.
